Who are you?
New Moon Africa is a South African based family business. (You might have heard of African Moon, our sister company, currently based in Zimbabwe). We design and manufacture our products ourselves. We do have an extensive product line, but if you would prefer something a little different, contact us and see what we have to offer.

What are your products made of`?
Our products are made from either kiln-formed glass or recycled glass. Some of our furniture and light incorporate additional materials such as steel, wood or handmade paper.

Will the glass break?
Kiln-formed glass or recycled glass is surprisingly durable. The glass does not fade or tarnish. However hardy though, it is still glass - so if you did decide to drop it from a dizzy height or to stand on one of the lights, they may break. We have successfully shipped our glass to Europe, various places in Africa, the United States and the United Kingdom. All our products are securely smothered in bubblewrap!

Is everything handmade?
Yes, it is handmade with tender loving care by our designers and crafts folk right here in South Africa.

Where are you based?
We are based in Honeydew, Gauteng, South Africa.

Do you take ‘bespoke’ or ‘one of a kind’ orders?
Yes we do! That is why we are special. We do our very best to interpret what our clients are asking for and then we make it ourselves. Cool hey?!


LIGHTS:
How strong are the lights?
The kilnformed lights are made of 5mm glass (minimum), and our recycled lights are made of recycled wine bottles. Our lights are just as durable, if not more, than the average light on the market.

What comes with each light?
Each light is wrapped in its own bubblewrap sleeve and then secured in its own cardboard box. Generally each light is also sold with the electrical fittings in tact. However, if you are exporting them for example, you may prefer that we do not include these. Just let us know. By the same token, if you are shipping the light outside of South Africa, we can pack them more securely into more robust crates for an additional cost.


PENDANTS:
I have one of your pendants, can I wear it everyday?
Of course yes! Wear it at all times...swimming, showering, singing in the car, tidying up your space, socialising, watching sports or TV or both, braaing, cooking, eating, exercising, crying and generally whilst watching the life around you flow.

What else comes with each pendant?
Each pendant is threaded with an appropriately coloured waxed, cotton cord and is placed in its own bubblewrap sleeve along with a story about us and our glass. It is then lovingly placed in its own gift box ready for you to discover.


CORPORATE GIFTS:
Do you do any corporate gifts?
Yes, we do. We have a number of smaller pieces that are very popular ranging from platters and coasters to jewellery and candlestands. We speak from experience when we say that these pieces also travel particularly well, especially when packed in a suitcase. No illegal substances are used so you can pass through any airport or border with a clear conscience!
